New Mac mini pics leaked?

More ports all round

As product leaks go, the picture of the supposed new Mac mini doing the rounds isn't exactly the most exciting. But that may lend more support to it being legit - it seems too dull to want to fake otherwise.

Well connected

The image currently being circulated was posted to the Mac Rumours forum and shows the back of the machine.

Changes to the design, which hasn't been updated since August 2007, include more USB ports, Firewire 800 and a choice of video out.

The photo shows five USB ports, instead of the normal four, and both mini DVI and mini DisplayPort connectors in place.

According to the person that posted the photo, the specs will run to a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB of memory and SATA DVD drive.

Availability

It could just be the result of someone getting creative with Photoshop, but given the huge amount of time since the last update it's likely Apple will have some sort of refresh in mind for the Mac mini. Until anything's officially announced, though, we'll just have to wait and see.
