Three debut entries turns the top five all sporty and sees Wii Fit lose grip of first place
Following a 16 week domination on the UK games chart, Wii Fit has been knocked off its perch by a striking blow from THQ's UFC 2009 Undisputed.
Undisputed is unrivaled
The mixed martial arts batter 'em up brings a knockout combo of great graphics and shocking realism (full review here) that, until EA's Fight Night round 4 arrives, won't be challenged anytime soon.
Second place is snapped up by Pokemon Platinum – a fighting game of sorts but with pocket monsters. If it can emulate any of Pokemon Yellow's success, which went 10 weeks at the top in 2000, it'll be hard for any title to catch.
Wii Fit gets a gym rival
Debuting in third is EA Sports Active, a fitness title for the Wii. Interactive exercises and in-box accessories such as a resistance band will hope to prove as popular as Wii Fit, which coincidentally sits in fourth place – just ahead of FIFA '09 after dropping 8% in sales and three places to fifth.
1. UFC 2009 Undisputed (THQ): Come and have a go, if you think you're hard enough
2. Pokemon Platinum (Nintendo): Pocket power comes to the top five
3. EA Sports Active (EA Sports): Will this fat fighter be as fun?
4. Wii Fit (Nintendo): Down, but not out
5. FIFA '09 (EA Sports): End of season, end of top five status?
