First adult iPhone app disappears after hours

Hottest Girls vanishes from App Store after brief flirtation with full-frontal limelight

Just 24 hours after tech sites around the globe drove it to world prominence, the first adult iPhone app has disappeared from the App Store.

At first, the Hottest Girls app was restricted to just scantily clad ladies, but once it became clear that the new iPhone OS 3.0 supports age verification, it was upgraded to host full nude images.

However, its celebrated status was shortlived, as Apple pulled the plug, possibly because of just how much publicity it was getting. Apple's policy on nudity has been very strict until now, after all.

It remains to be seen whether Hottest Girls will return to its original state, or with more rigidly enforced age verification. Either way, it seems, the ice has been broken.
