Aston Martin city car to cost £100,000

British supercar manufacturer Aston Martin has rocked the motoring world by announcing a £20,000 city runaround.

The car will be based heavily on the Toyota iQ, which normally sells for around half the price. It will have an Aston Martin-designed interior, though, as well as custom wheels.

The car will only be three metres long, and has a one litre, three cylinder engine unlikely to pose much of a threat to Aston Martin's 420bhp, 180mph V8 Vantage.

But, even if the Cygnet's price wasn't twice that of the car it's heavily based on, you won't see many of them around - both Auto Express and the Daily Mail are reporting that only current Aston Martin owners will be eligable to buy one. The Vantage starts at a cool 80 grand.
