Yikes, the economy really is bad if Apple's cutting its prices
Looking to cheer yourself up in these depressing credit-crunch-heavy times? Well, fear not as tomorrow, for one day only, you'll be able to snag yourself some lovely Apple kit at knockdown prices to cheer yourself up a bit. The economy must really be in trouble if Apple is offering discounts.
In the event of shopping
Whether Steve Jobs can better the coming 2.5 percent VAT cut from Gordon Brown, or whoever's Chancellor of the Exchequer these days (Tony Blair is still Prime Minister, right?), remains to be seen, though, as we won't know how much of a saving can be made until it all kicks off tomorrow.
Apple is touting it as its "biggest shopping event of the year", which is suitably non-descript. Can you remember any other Apple shopping events this year? Or indeed any other shopping events full stop?
Reasons to be thankful
Despite Apple's coyness about what, exactly, is on offer there are bound to be some bargains as it's got a webpage plugging its Black Friday Deals. And as everyone knows, Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving when shops offer big discounts to kick start the Christmas spending season (totally didn't have to go and look that up in Wikipedia).
But if it's good enough for our American buddies, then it's sure as darn good enough for us too. So, while you're sitting down ready to tuck into your Thanksgiving turkey, pumpkin pie and yams tonight, make sure to take a flick through the Apple catalogue and decide what brand spanking new kit you'll buy to help kickstart our failing economy and get this country back on its feet! High five, anyone?
Availability
Apple's Black Friday – you are allowed to just call it a sale – starts tomorrow, 28 November, for one day only. It applies both in store and online and you owe it to Tiny Tim, the recently sacked merchant banker, to buy as much pretty shiny kit as possible.
